The Knight's Armament 5.56 QDC/CRS-PRT is a quick-detach 5.56x45mm NATO rifle suppressor finished in Flat Dark Earth. It mounts to KAC's 5.56 QDC muzzle devices, a system designed to resist carbon lock-up and give a small, repeatable point-of-impact shift when the suppressor goes on or comes off. The PRT (Pressure Reduction Technology) design vents most of the pressure in the suppressor and bore before the rifle's action begins to extract. This reduces gas blowback, cuts felt recoil and limits the usual side effects of running a suppressed AR. The suppressor is 6.25 inches long overall and adds about 4.15 inches over a KAC QDC three-prong flash hider. It weighs about 19.2 ounces and has a published sound reduction of about 24 dB.
